Sean McNary is a Bradenton-based civil litigation attorney and Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator with a unique blend of military discipline, real-world business experience, and broad courtroom exposure. From representing clients in high-stakes civil disputes to advocating for indigent defendants and foster children, Sean brings integrity, tenacity, and empathy to every case.
A Bradenton native, Sean attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Manatee High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a Master of Science in Information Studies from Florida State University. His early career in the tech sector included managing smart card systems for universities and implementing global help desk infrastructure for Microsoft via Hewlett-Packard in Seattle.
Driven by a deep sense of service, Sean enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was deployed to Okinawa, Japan; Kabul, Afghanistan; and Fallujah, Iraq. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and was decorated with numerous honors, including the Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. His roles included Fire Direction Chief and Marine Combat Instructor of Water Survival.
After completing his military service, Sean returned home to Bradenton, where he married his wife Anna and co-managed her successful wedding planning business while helping launch upscale restaurants in Anna Maria Island and Lakewood Ranch. His journey into law began at Ave Maria School of Law, culminating in bar admission and a passion for public defense.
Sean’s legal career has included roles with the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, where he represented indigent clients in Juvenile Dependency, Delinquency, Misdemeanor, and Felony courts. He then served as a civil litigator at Najmy Thompson, PL, and later at Lydecker LLP, a national defense firm. His litigation background spans bodily injury claims, premises liability, tort defense, probate, construction litigation, family law, and even homicide defense.
Now a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, Sean brings his vast litigation experience into the mediation room to help parties resolve disputes efficiently and fairly—especially in high-conflict or emotionally charged civil matters.
Sean remains committed to community service. He provides pro bono legal representation as an Attorney Ad Litem for foster children in Manatee and DeSoto Counties and previously volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Manatee County’s Veterans Treatment Court.
